A man walks into the arena and asks the security guard standing near the door if he could speak to the GM of Legends of Pain Entertainment. For whatever reason the security guard has a good feeling about this young guy and escorts him down a long corridor and knocks on a large brown door. A voice responds from inside the room:
PhantomTA: Yeah, who is it?
Security Guard: It’s Joe the front door security guard, this guy came in asking for you
PhantomTA: I only have a minute, this better be important
The security guard opens the door and shows the man to a seat. PhantomTA looks across the desk
PhantomTA: Not sure how you convinced security to let you in. Is there something I can do for you?
Sparty: I hope so, my name is Johnnie Bradford and…
Cutting him off mid sentence
PhantomTA: I thought you looked familiar, you used to wrestle at Michigan State
Sparty: Yes sir
PhantomTA: You were some kind of athlete, a 2 time all American and you won the national championship your sophomore year. If I remember right you won a silver medal in the Olympics shortly after that but, wasn’t there some controversy with the decision?
Sparty: Yes, the scorers were bought off and I lost the match that everyone in the stadium knew I won. I was so upset after that match that I never wrestled again. That’s actually the reason I’m here. I’ve been watching the last several Legends of Pain and Total Advantage shows and I’m a little upset at what’s happening to the Legends fighters.
PhantomTA: What do you mean?
Sparty: Ever since Strife took over as Vice GM of TAW he and his goons have been screwing these guys over and it really ticks me off. I want to get in there and even up the odds.
PhantomTA: You’ve obviously been keeping in shape but you haven’t wrestled in what, 2, maybe 3 years? This isn’t college or the Olympics where there are tons of rules to protect you. The guys fighting here are the real deal and are some mean SOB’s. It’s not just the wrestling, they use chairs, barbed wire, bats, etc...; if they can get there hands on it they’re going to use it. I like your enthusiasm but look at you, with your pretty boy face and clean cut look, these guys would eat you up.
Sparty: Please sir, I don’t care if I get hurt or if my face gets all messed up. I don’t care if I ever get a title shot or if I ever even win a match. I’m just sick of the TAW guys bullying the Legends guys and I want to help them get their title back. I’ve been screwed over before and I hate seeing it happen to other people. Give me a shot…
PhantomTA sits staring at the desperate fighter in front of him. After what feels like an eternity he reaches into his desk and brings out a piece of paper and starts writing on it.
PhantomTA: Against my better judgment I’m going to give you a shot. Here’s a contract for this season. I don’t want you coming back in here complaining about getting hurt or getting that face of yours all scarred up, I’ve warned you.
Sparty: Thank you so much, you won’t be disappointed
PhantomTA: I hope not. First things first, we’re going to have to get you a stage name, Johnnie just doesn’t work in this organization. From now on you’ll be known as Sparty.
Sparty: Sparty huh, I like it…
